Can't Handle it!! (Friday No.4 [A real one])

Well told you it wouldn't be long! I'm bored of the holidays already, I suppose I should get organised and do some of that homework so kindly given me!!

I'm thinking I wouldn't mind doing some lead climbing tonight, only I'm pretty tired from going running last night. Did several laps of a field close by where I live, then at the end of each lap I did 20 press-ups, mmmm... yup... that would account for the sore muscles! Should bode well for a good work out tonight as well!!

Will probably take my Camera tonight, see if I cant try some shots, will definitely take my tripod as my Camera isn't so good on the night shots and needs a slow shutter speed, can't remember what speed film I've got either..... Oh well will try anyhow!

This holiday stinks!
At least I'm listening to End of Fashion, one plus to the day!!!
I think that we should all boycott pseudo holidays, that is to say we should have real ones instead!!

Chao!

Well its Holidays (and Friday no.3:)

Well the most fantastic thing happened!!
On Friday evening, I went climbing, and yes I was able to do some lead!! Which meant that I had a shot at the ROOF!!! WELL I DID IT, and not only did I do it, I did it in one go (the whole roof section) YEAH, man did that make me feel good.

After that I can't really remember the weekend, as its a blur of work, a hot german girl, and awesome friends!!
Guess this holiday thing really takes it out of you!!!
Actually it wont take long and I'll have to find something to do!!

Till after the holidays, or till I can stand it no longer,

David

It's Friday (really :)

Well its actually friday now, yay!!! Technically I'm on holiday for two weeks, so the posts may dwindle for the moment but the thoughts and stories will be there:)

I say technically on holiday because they ALWAYS figure a way to slip in all these assignments and projects for you to do, far be it from them to actually let you relax and recover from your workload!!

Its definitely on for tonight, will go rock climbing again. I wan't to I say it but I wont, you'll only know if I climb the roof in the next post.......... suppose its the whole 'once bitten twice as likely not to write about it' thing.

Yesterday was not good, the test that I was yabbering about last post was quite the terrible test. The test itself wasn't as bad as it perhaps could have been, but the fact that the lecturer (Mr Popovich) decided in his wisdom to move it like 4 hours ahead of schedule!! That act alone instantly halves my resulting mark in the stupid thing!! Doomed from the start!!

Then as if I couldn't have perhaps had anything else go wrong, I decided to catch up with a Friend who plays Handball. Now I hadn't seen Handball been played in real life before so I thought that 'hey yeah lets go for a look, that place is only down the road, it'l be nice'. What happens but when I get to the place I go inside and there is a receptionist and a dude behind me re-stringing a racquet. I proceed to make the biggest fool of myself as I was asking about the Stadium and here I was like on the other side of the city at the TENNIS COURTS, my did I feel like a goon!!
Needless to say I let myself down and my friends, feeling stupid doing so........... but at least I was able to laugh at myself as I walked to the bus stop and caught a ride home :)

Till such a time!
Post it Bandit

It's Friday!!! (not really)

Well its Thursday, oh I mean Friday sorry! (clock is offically stopped :)
Today is not a good day, I have this massively stupid Test, Control Systems, in which I will probably do very badly in. Is it really my fault??? My lecturer's last name is Popovich, and he has a an accent to match it! Then the subject matter isn't exactly the most thrilling that I've ever been subjected to!!

Who am I kidding of course its my fault, Its my fault for not learning Turkish or Polish and its my fault for not 'loving' Control Systems and all its related 'Glory'!

Oh well these things happen! (to me of course)

You would think that if you had an amazing friend, one whom you hold in high regard and esteem, you would be able to just be a friend instead of letting 'things' (which are of course an excuse for nothing) affect your attitude.

That aside, can't wait till Friday...... Ahem......the friday tomorrow to go rock climbing, I am so hoping to go Lead Climbing, actually maybe I shouldn't hope thats likely to ensure I don't get to go. I might catch up with a friend or two there also.

Tonight is a late one in the centre, could be another tiring day. I really don't do so well when I'm hungry or tired and even worse both.

Laterz!

O yeah!

Well you know today is my least favoured day of the week, THE LEAST FAVOURED!
The good things about today (thinking postive here) are 1. The ride into the city with a great friend. 2. The fact that Calculus is but once a week. 3. ....... All of two reasons, yet they are good.

Well in a way Its a good reminder to cheerish every other day that isn't so nasty (uni wise)!!

Yesterdays climb was great, I had heaps of imagination. I was hanging off the wall at all obscure angles, it was fantastic! Even managed this lunge, where you leap unassisted to a single handhold and hold on with one hand supporting your entire body weight. Man it sounds better than it is I think, still a lot of fun though and you can impress the Gym fanatics that frequently pass the wall!! I also tried to workout my abs, which was good but don't know if I really did too much. I also, before I forget, managed to do the Cragg or crevice in the wall it was great, once I saw it with a different view it seemed a lot easier(Imagination)!!

I had best be off into the day, I'm hoping to see someone I know today (there are days when I don't) maybe sneak them into my lectures, could be entertaining!!

PS: Speaking of Post it's I left one on the bathroom mirror! only two hundred and ninety seven to go!

New Week, New Challenges!

Mornin!

ITs the start of another week, a week of uni, work and life!
Managed to get put into the student magazine last week, won something from having my pic in the mag. I won a 'Post it' note dispenser and while that doesn't sound the most appealing thing to have won I would like to point out the thought that I had for its use. What fun could one have with such a device, dispenser and 300 'post it' notes (sticky ones of course). Well one could write questions and interesting statements and post them in random places. I could be the next 'post it' bandit (as I'm sure someones done this already).
Will update if it gets anywhere.

Will undoubtedly try for a small climb today, more imagination less hesitation. Havn't done a indoor lead climb in too long, am hanging out (excuse the pun) for this Friday as will really try to get there and do the fabled roof climb!!

Mmmmm I suppose I should study for the obscenely difficult Control Systems today as I've a test on Thursday. Managed to finish the Lab off for it early which even impressed myself!!

Why is it that we are always attracted to the impossible??

Till tomorrow or some crazy event happens!
Auf Wiedersehen

Tis the End of the Week :) (in NZ)

I love Friday's!!

I'm very tired from the climb last night, it was good. We met this Hungarian dude and he told me some tips. One of which was I needed to use my legs much more, then to angle my foot toes down heels up, then to use easy holds to progress my technique. He went on to say that I need imagination..... how fantastic is that? And you know what? Its true as he said without it I hesitate and lose the 'flow' that one must have when rock climbing. It was great now I've got a couple of things to specifically work out, I will see if I can improve on them!!

Yesterday I made a conscious decision to think of my Control Systems paper the most despicable and undesirable paper I have, yes even above that of the evil calculus, as Control Systems is "Ludicrously hard"!!!!! Anyone out there know how to do Laplace transforms easily and are able to convey how to do it easily to me??? Sorry it's a bit of a trick question as Laplace transforms and easy shouldn't EVER be put in the same sentence!!!!

Well apart from Stupid Control Systems (not too stupid though as its the basis of all our funky technology at the moment) Yesterday went well, today it is sunny outside will possibly try to do some homework in the sun, will see though as it didn't work so well last time!

We are but a vapor quickly forgotten in this life.............................. so why is it that your mistakes last longer than you do??

Bye!

The Aftermath!

Good Thursday to you,
I've finished those two tests, both of which didn't seem to go all that well, I guess this will be proved when marks (or lack thereof) are returned!
Work was good yesterday, although the renovations seemed to have halted somewhat, which means that there is still a strong possibility of me falling over something or just plain slipping over.

I must share two funny things that did happen on Tuesday though, one was when I went to the library to do some study for those stupid tests. The other was in a lecture, in which the lecturer proceeded to embarrass himself. When I was in the Library I decided to take the elevator, (this was probably the fifth time I'd taken it that day) I followed two other people into it when it started closing while I was between the doors, it hit my shoulder and I only just made it in, the real crazy thing was that there was like two or three people behind me that couldn't make it because of the psycho lift!! Crazy!!
Later on I was in my Engineering Management lecture, and our lecturer/topics have been changed (don't ask why, I don't know) when he [the lecturer] starts to explain the managerial Acronym SMART, only he decided in his wisdom that it was now spelt SMRT, we thought that maybe this version didn't have an A in it. Only with each letters explaination he got to where A was supposed to be and then realised it was missing. Now the fact that it was missing a letter isn't such a big deal but the next part is... He goes to the board and puts the A in front of the M!! spelling SAMRT!! At this the whole class erupts into laughter, I could only cringe and feel sorry for the dude, how embarrasing.
The moral for those two stories is one: don't take the lift too often your bound to get hurt and two: Always Always know how to spell what your going to put up in front of the class, and if you don't make a student to do it for you!!

Tonight I'm going to do some rock climbing, it'll be on a small wall though, so could be fun. Really need to make it a good work out though have felt a little lethargic all week. Will be able to show my flatmate the neat natural features of the wall.

Au revoir!

Tests and tests!

I'm about to rush off to do some hurried study for these tests I have today, can't wait till they are over. What ever happened to practice tests?
You know I may as well have gone climbing yesterday the sun was so warm and beautiful that Study was neglected too well. Don't know which would be more benificial to me, the basking in the sun or the climbing of walls?
I suppose I'd better trudge off to the library see if I can't pull some knowledge out of the depths of my learning!!
I managed a decision on the haircut too, will see how it turns out, will be a medium-long messy(kind of) look. Hard to describe, if all else fails I know I could pull off a short look!!
Till Thursday!

Only ever so slightly disappointing ;)

Well good Monday rest of the world!

Let me first and foremost share my slight, and I mean ever so slight, disappointment regarding one supposed "Roof Climb"! I am sorry to say that it did not eventuate, this was due solely to the fact that the contact I had for lead climbing wasn't there. I actually think that he was still on his survival course. Either way no lead climbing happened and neither did an attempt on the roof. Many things could be said but lets not, instead I will perhaps go for a practice climb today.

Then again maybe not.......I do happen to have two very important tests tomorrow, one being the ever present and evil calculus, the other just good 'ol power engineering. I think that I'll have to place more emphasis on the evil one! I suppose the good thing about tests is the finishing of the class early for once!!

Another note about the weekend, whilst climbing my flatmate and myself happened upon some German Chicks climbing, actually they had been there before but all we said was to tell them how to climb (very insensitive). Anyways we actually proceeded to spend the night talking, them mostly in German and us just laughing as it sounded so funny. Little do we know they were probably saying crazy stuff about us right infront of us (I would).
It was a late night considering that I had work in the morning, and I saw some back streets of the city that in fact I will never go down again. It wasn't my fault we walked down them we had an intrepid 'leader' a head of us. Twas fun though.
The work on Saturday was good, I think that I narrowly escaped breaking something several times, that something being most likely me!! The renovations in the shop/store will be complete soon, that should decrease the chance of tripping over cables and the like.

Have decided to get a haircut, but have not yet decided the style........could be a problem, will post if I get there............one day!

I can only hope that I can be as much of a good friend to my friends as they are to me, I don't think that they quite know how much they really are, sometimes I wish I could convey it.

Adios people

D-day Friday!

Morning!

Well you know what a difference One day can make? A lot! Its Friday, which means that its D-day for the Roof climb this evening!
Before I get too far ahead of myself I must admit I'll be studying for Two tests, working through two Assingments and the Tutoring mentioned in the previous post!
Will be a busy day, fortunately the weather is stunning, and bodes well for a sunny 'sit in the park' and do all that work!! Too bad I've got a long sleeve shirt on, what was I thinking??

Thought that I'd better answer those questions,
The first was easy I wanted the day to be over because the day wasn't great and a new season of 24 had started on T.V. last night!! (which was fantastic by the way)
The second is pretty self explanitory, your best friends are the ones who suffer because they are the ones that are always close by.........and stay there when you realise they are still there!
I think I need to get some better questions when questioning things, Oh well!

Back to the Climb, must admit its played on my mind a lot, almost makes me nervous, almost! My goal is to get to the end (the last anchor and quick-draw), but I might even try for all in one go!!

All in all it should make for a brilliant day.

Only the weekend to come, Work tomorrow and a day of rest on Sunday, perhaps a trip to get some big pancakes with ice-cream on them........mmmmmm a good thought. Hope the weather holds out.

Till then, maybe.

Back into the City!

Good Morning!
Well first off I survived the 'Particularly nasty' Calculus Lecture, I may have even learned something from it!! Decided that I didn't quite learn enough so organised a Extra tutorial with the lecturer on Friday, YEhaa!

Wednesday was an okay day spent working at a Digital Photo/Film processing shop, it was interesting as some renovations are going on, so one has to dodge around obstacles and have xray vision to complete any task! Sure would be an advantage if I knew a little Mandarin or even Cantonese too. Mind you in saying that I gave a young girl a fright when she spoke mandarin to her older sister/mother (I'm unsure) about where she wanted a photo cropped whilst working on the console. I could see what she was talking about and so showed her the solution, as to which she had a very surprised look on her face and asked if I understood Mandarin!! Funny stuff!

Well today is a bit of a pain, it involves the sitting through of Control Systems, At least with the Calculus paper its passable this one seems very much less likely!!
Tis only the morning and I want the day to be over already, why is that?
And why is it that your best friends are the ones that seem to suffer because of your actions/attitudes?
Mmmm I might leave those for a different day, perhaps tomorrow being that its a new one and all.

'Nothing gained Nothing ventured'!
Bye.

Interesting!

Good morning, well I've just realised that it says the date on the posts, not that that was the revelation, the revelation was in fact that the day is in American form, so it sounds funny when I'm writing about Lectures and classes when the post is headed SUNDAY! Will change that:)

Well the rock climbing was good, although I can't say that I got too much technique from going. My body is telling me I did something by the way its reacting....... Slowly!
Will have to see how things go for the climb on Friday, might have to give the fingers a rest till then.

Have a typically nasty Engineering Computation lecture that goes from 5pm till 9pm tonight, will endevour to survive it!!

Till later!

Easy Does it!

Well Tis the season to be jolly, no not really its just the start of the week. Will do a small amount of rock climbing today, hopefully can sort out my matching and general hand/finger strength. Oh and Tecnique, technique is what I need too! Have to get good so that I can cimb the roof on Friday!
Will have a Power Engineering class, actually Power electronics, this morning should be okay. Then will do the climing, then back to class for Engineering Management, sounds entertaining doesn't it??? Go on be jelous, no don't be too jelous its not that great, when it gets that great I'll let you know but till then I'll just pretend its great.
Will definitely have to get some pics done.

Laterz!

Its happened!!!

Well can't really believe it myself, managed to make a blog, the real trick now is if I can manage to keep it updated!!

Its gonna be rockin' as I can use it for any random event that I should happen upon!

Catch everybody soon.
